Description
Artist Information
In crystalline glazes seeds grown in the glaze while it is very hot (about 2100 degrees). The crystals start out a s microscopic spots in the glaze, called seeds. These seeds form spontaneously, in random numbers and locations. Most potters consider crystalline glazes to be the most difficult and challenging of all glazes to work with. They require meticulous attention to every detail. Also, the success rate is much lower for this glaze than for any other.
**Because of the random nature of this glaze the colors will vary from piece to piece. We will always picture the most interesting piece in stock and the one closest to the photograph**
Two potters, one from Pennsylvania and one from Louisiana, have teamed to produce Flambeau Crystal Porcelain.
